The Archetypal Portrait
The Archetypal Portrait
“A good portrait isn't a copy of a face — it's a question about who someone might be.”
— Joep Hijwegen
A workshop about photographing people as more than likeness — finding the archetype inside the individual. We work with light, gesture and distance to make portraits that feel timeless and a little mythic, somewhere between a document and a character study.
Who's it for
Photographers who want to direct with confidence and build the kind of rapport that lets a subject drop their guard. Bring any camera; we'll cover approach, reading light, and the small decisions that turn a snapshot into a portrait that holds you.
